Operating since 1998, Philly Shipyard has successfully delivered numerous commercial vessels, including containerships, product tankers, Aframax tankers, and training vessels.

Philly Shipyard ASA is listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange (Oslo: PHLY) and is majority-owned by Aker Capital AS, which in turn is wholly-owned by Aker ASA (Aker). Aker is an industrial investment company that exercises active ownership to create value.

On July 15, 2024, it was announced that Philly Shipyard ASA signed a Share Purchase Agreement with Hanwha to sell its operating subsidiary, Philly Shipyard, Inc. (PSI). This transaction closed in [December 2024].
